Portable Appliance Testing
It is a legal requirement under the Electricity at Work Regulations (1989) that electrical equipment is properly maintained. This applies to all electrical equipment from 415 volt items, through 240 volt, 110 volt and down to battery operated hand-held items. It includes extension and trailing cables.
The frequency of both visual checks and in-service periodical portable appliance testing can vary from 3 months to 4 years, depending on a number of variables. These include the type of the equipment and the environment in which it is used. For example, the recommended inspection frequency for 110 volt equipment used on Construction sites is 3 monthly.
Do you know the correct inspection intervals for all your electrical equipment?
Electrical hazards can be quite significant even in low-risk environments such as Offices. Portable appliance testing, commonly known as PAT-testing, is a good way of proving that your equipment is safe to use. B-Safe can do this inspection and testing for you either at your own premises or ‘on site’ if required.
Working together with you we look at all relevant features and provide you a bespoke programme that not only keeps you the right side of the law but also helps your business and people to B-Safe.
